With MapCatch, suitable phones can share live positions, show the event map, and receive official updates from the organiser. Participants can see route, checkpoint, or location changes while tracking continues in the background.
We have refined the participant app for difficult outdoor event conditions, with stability, readability, battery discipline, and field usability as core requirements. Spectators can follow the public event view on the web or in the MapCatch app.
One app for tracking and event information
Built for participants, not just map points
Participants can use suitable phones when the organiser enables app tracking. The same app can share location, show the event map, receive official messages, and display route or checkpoint updates. Dedicated trackers remain available when the event needs managed hardware. Spectators follow from the browser or app.
Skip tracker rental when participants use their phones
If participants already carry suitable phones, the event can skip rental trackers entirely, removing shipping, hand-out, collection, and device assignment work.
Run the event from the field
Organisers can manage participants, publish official messages, change routes, checkpoints, or locations during the event, and keep the event view aligned with real conditions.
Watch from a browser
Crews, families, and fans can follow the public event view with progress, live results, arrival estimates, messages, replay, and visible corrections.
Optimised in difficult conditions
The participant app has been refined through years of outdoor event use, including bike events, weak signal, long runtime, changing weather, and field handling. Rental phones weigh below 200 g and last up to 100 hours while tracking.
Bring-your-own phones need discipline
When participants use their own phones, proper configuration, permissions, battery management, and charging are their responsibility. For some events, rented prepared phones are the more predictable option.
